Özkoyuncu Energy Production Industry and Trade Inc. was established in 2009 by Özkoyuncu Mining Metallurgy Construction Industry and Trade Inc. to invest in electricity generation facilities based on renewable energy sources.
Studies on electricity generation investments based on solar energy were initiated in 2012 and first solar power plant (SPP) with an installed capacity of 2 MWe owned by Ozkoyuncu Energy was commissioned in 2014. With the investments made in the following years, the installed capacity was increased to 43 MWe by making investment 9 MWe in the Kayseri region and 34 MWe in the Balıkesir region. Finally, it was decided to continue SPP investments abroad by purchasing a SPP project in the Pancota region of Romania in July of 2024 too. The installed capacity of this project is 6,655 MWe and all official permits have been obtained related to this project in order to begining investment at the site.
Today, Özkoyuncu Energy Inc. is a well-known, experienced and reliable company in the energy sector in terms of investments based on solar energy. As of the end of 2024, the amount of electrical energy produced in its solar power plants and supplied to the system has reached 620.383.529 kWh. This corresponds to the annual electricity consumption of approximately 258.493 households. In addition, 602.314 tons of CO2 emissions* have been prevented with this environmentally friendly and renewable energy produced.
